Course Description: This certification course is designed for herbalists, holistic healers, spiritual practitioners, and caregivers who wish to specialize in supporting grief and emotional trauma within the BIPOC community through the use of plant medicine. The course offers a culturally grounded exploration of herbs traditionally used for emotional wounds, nervous system support, heartache, and ancestral grief. Students will learn to work with herbs that help release stuck sorrow, soothe the nervous system, support dreamwork with ancestors, and open the heart to spiritual healing. Rooted in African, Indigenous, and African American healing traditions, this program will also examine grief as a portal to transformation and ancestral connection. Through case studies, rituals, blending techniques, and ethical practice, participants will emerge prepared to serve as Grief Herbalists—those who hold sacred space using nature’s medicine for emotional and spiritual release.
